CROSSING THE LINE: MULTIRACIAL COMEDIANS is the first of a four part series of documentaries investigating the power of language and its affect on American identity. It is produced by New England Institute of Art Professor, Emmy-Award winner and multiracial comedian, Teja Arboleda, M.Ed. This first film looks at how comedians transcend race through humor. Bookended by performers such as Michael Richards, Rosie O'Donnell, Don Imus, and the NAACP-Detroit N-Word burial march, the story dives deep into the pool of mixed-blood humorists to test the limits of the freedom of speech - who gets to say what, and where the line is. It features prominent figures such as Rain Pryor (daughter of Richard Pryor), Professor Randall Kennedy (Harvard Law School Professor and author of 'Nigger'), and experts on issues of race and culture, and many prominent mixed race comedians.
