The Expand Your World cultural series is not so much a window on the world as it is a door to the world—inviting you to personally experience the diversity of countries around the globe and to explore in depth the peoples, cultures, and lands you encounter along the way.

Expand Your World programs and events:

International Women's Day Film Festival
International Women's Day is celebrated in countries throughout the world with festivals, parades, and special events. Hostelling International is bringing the celebration to Boston with the International Women's Day Film Festival.

The mission of the Boston International Women's Day Film Festival is to promote a greater understanding of the extraordinary lives of women around the world through relevant and thought-provoking films and discussions.

ITVS Community Cinema
A monthly series in partnership with Boston Cares that showcases new documentaries and dramas made by independent thinkers: filmmakers who are taking creative risks and finding untold stories in unexpected places around the world.

Travelers' Circles
Discover the world with this informal, discussion-oriented program. Each month we host a presentation on a specific travel destination, discussing both the nuts and bolts of travel as well as the intricacies of cultural exchange. About half the time is spent hearing from our speaker and the rest in dialogue. Ask questions, share stories, provide your travel insights. Bring a friend!

Writers and Readings series
Join us for readings by writers who have journeyed around the world and brought their stories home to share.
