A psychotic socialite (Robert Walker) confronts a pro tennis star (Farley Granger) with a theory on how two complete strangers can get away with murder—a theory that he plans to implement. Alfred Hitchcock enlisted writers including Raymond Chandler and Ben Hecht to adapt Patricia Highsmith's debut novel, crafting one of his finest thrillers.
