Based on Pink Floyd’s 1979 Art Rock megahit of the same name, Alan Parker’s (Mississippi Burning, Evita) cinematic adaption is a wild tour-de-force that continues to be a vivid rallying cry to this day.

Rock star Pink (Bob Geldof) relives the moments of his life—his cruel childhood, the reality of war, a failing marriage—and starts constructing a wall to isolate himself from the world. Told through both grand live action set-pieces and hallucinogenic animated sequences, The Wall is an unabashed exploration of love and sex, depression and death, war and fascism, and the hope that these walls can be torn down.
