The Modern School of Film brings its international In:Pictures series to The Coolidge!

Voted “Best Movie Outing” by New York Magazine, The Modern School of Film invites luminaries from the worlds of film, music, comics, comedy, and culture to screen and discuss clips from three films that have most-inspired their life and work.  Whether it's an awestruck Anthony Bourdain praising Goodfellas, Alanis Morissette and Kristin Wiig laughing and singing along with Bridesmaids, or Salman Rushdie reflecting on sci-fi’s brightest constellation Star Wars, The Modern School of Film delivers an evening like no other. Intelligent and irreverent, stimulating and spontaneous.  They also have a weekly version of their series called Murmur.

Hosted by MSF Founder Robert Milazzo, Dr. Henry Louis Gates, Jr. In:Pictures features select segments of three movies chosen by and discussed with Dr. Gates, as he revisits, through movies, the images and ideas that shaped this master teacher, thinker, see'er, and cartographer of the human experience.

He’ll also be taking audience questions, so sharpen the pencils.
