The fourth installment in director George Miller’s Mad Max series was thirty years in the making but well worth the wait.

Instantly heralded as one of the best and most visually-dazzling action films of all time, the film follows Max (Tom Hardy) as he becomes swept up with a band of survivors fleeing across the Wasteland in a war rig driven by an elite Imperator, Furiosa (Charlize Theron, giving a revelatory performance).

“A kinetic, hallucinatory, boldly feminist chase flick that, with its vibrant color palette, harrowing stunt work and show-don't-tell style of yarn-spinning, leaves every Marvel movie in its irradiated dust.” — Chris Klimex, NPR
