Three men, crippled by an evil warlord, become friends and learn kung fu with the help of an old teacher and his idiot pupil.

A small town lives under the tyrannical rule of an embittered, half-mad kung-fu master and his sadistic son, whose arms were severed by his father’s enemies and who now sports a pair of iron limbs that also happen to shoot deadly darts. Four men who dare to stand up to them are systematically mutilated: one is blinded, another is rendered deaf-mute, the third has his legs lopped off, and the fourth is left an imbecile after his head is crushed in a vise. The quartet seeks the help of a wise kung-fu master, who teaches them to turn their weaknesses into strengths and fight together to balance out their respective vulnerabilities.

Reuniting the stable of performers known as the “Venom Mob” — whose Peking opera and martial-arts training allow them to spend more time off the ground than on — Chang Cheh takes his world of dazzling setpieces and over-the-top heroics to delirious new heights. Outrageous, fantastic, and maniacally entertaining!
