Neo-Tokyo is about to EXPLODE!

In a post-apocalyptic Japan swarming with violent motorcycle gangs and antigovernment revolutionaries, Kaneda must stop lifelong friend Tetsuo, whose out-of-control psychic powers could destroy the city.

Akira isn’t just a movie, it’s the birth of a genre. Katsuhiro Ôtomo’s landmark cyber-punk classic obliterated the boundaries of Japanese animation and forced the world to look into the future. Akira’s arrival shattered traditional thinking, creating space for movies like the The Matrix to be dreamed into brutal reality.
