2hr 00mins // directed by:Tony Scott // featuring:Christian Slater, Patricia Arquette, Gary Oldman, Dennis Hopper, Christopher Walken, Val Kilmer, Brad Pitt

One of the few Quentin Tarantino-written films that isn't directed by him (some may argue to better results), it is chock-a-block with amazing performances and strange cameos by the likes of Gary Oldman, Brad Pitt, Val Kilmer, Dennis Hopper, Christopher Walken, Samuel L. Jackson, and James Gandolfini.

Christian Slater plays Clarence, a kung-fu film fanboy who runs a comic book shop in Detroit. He meets up with call-girl Alabama (Patricia Arquette) on his birthday and together they hatch a plan to leave the dying city once and for all. The only problem is that their means of leaving town revolves around stealing a large dufflebag of cocaine from Alabama's pimp, Drexl Spivey (Gary Oldman). Once arriving in Hollywood while trying to unload the drugs, they soon realize that Drexl's connections reach much farther then just the Motor City.

Beautifully shot, with an excellent score, this is one of the unarguable highlights of director Tony Scott's career, not to mention one of the last great roles that has come to Christian Slater.
