Super-Townie, the premiere!
Saturday, March 3
1hr 30mins // directed by:Paul M. McAlarney // featuring:Greg LaVoie, Nicholas Viau, and Chris Hurley
Armed with nothing but meager personal savings, a small collection of film equipment, and ludicrous imaginations, a small group of young adults from the Boston area have banded together to create what they hope to be America's next favorite sitcom.
Welcome to Point of Pines, a semi-fictional neighborhood on the Atlantic Coast known for its high concentration of "townies". Life in Point of Pines is routine and mundane, each day welcoming yet another migration of the townies from their decrepit homes to the local union headquarters then to Tip of the Pine, the town bar, to finish off the day. For most Point of Pines residents, this monotony is soothing and reassuring, but for Tom O'Neil, our Super-Townie, it's not enough. Take a tour with us through the life of Tom O'Neil and his fellow townies through the course of Super-Townie's first and second episodes, and a handful of short films based on Point of Pines, while Tom starts a passive-aggressive Cold War with his neighbor over the placement of a shrub, then learns and abuses a new social trick intended to silence rowdy individuals.
Visit www.supertownie.com in the meantime to get a taste of Point of Pines and the resident townies!
Premiere includes: Episode 01 - "My Lawn" // Short films - "Tom" / "Tom and Lou" / "The Professional" / "Townie Hunter" and more! // Episode 02 - "The Fish" // Q&A at the end with co-creators Paul M McAlarney and Greg LaVoie.
Tickets: $8.75 all seats
