Moviehouse One, our grand downstairs theatre, seats 440 people. The theatre features state-of-the-art film projection as well as a large stage ideal for panel discussions, Q&A's, and live performances.
Moviehouse Two used to be the balcony when the Coolidge was a one-theatre house. It is now a medium-size, 217-seat theatre featuring state-of-the-art film projection and audio, as well as a small stage ideal for director q&a's, small performances and group discussions.

Metropolitan Chorale presents: Carmina Burana Oktoberfest Open Sing

A popular underscore in film and television, Carl Orff's powerful "Carmina Burana" is one of the most familiar choral classics of the 20th century. Now the Brookline-based Metropolitan Chorale presents an open-sing of this perennial classic imbued with the German tradition of Oktoberfest.
Members of the chorus and its talented solo artists-in-residence, conducted by music director Lisa Graham, invite the greater Boston community to experience the thrill of singing one of the 20th century's great iconic masterworks amidst the rousing spirit of the Oktoberfest tradition. Scores will be available, courtesy of Metropolitan Chorale, for those not owning their own. During this lively evening, beer, wine, popcorn and other goodies will be available for your personal enjoyment! Oktoberfest was originally a 16-day festival in Munich celebrating the food and beer of Bavaria. It is now celebrated around the world, conjuring up images of convivial good cheer, lively song, and frosty mugs of cold, foamy beer.

Metropolitan Chorale of Brookline, formerly known as Brookline Chorus, is a 100-voice auditioned chorus that is gaining a reputation as one of Metro Boston's premier choral ensembles. Throughout its 32-year history, the chorale's mission has been to unite singers who share the joy of learning and performing challenging traditional and contemporary repertoire, and to support the growth of music in the community. Led by Music Director Lisa Graham, four young Artists in Residence, and an assistant conductor/accompanist, the chorus emphasizes culturally significant programming and excellence in performance, yielding a unique artistic contribution to the Greater Boston arts scene.
