In Fritz Lang’s M, Peter Lorre gives what many consider his greatest performance as an elusive child murderer who escapes the eye of the law, but not the wrath of Berlin’s criminal underworld. 

Combining biting social commentary with harrowing suspense, Lang created a panorama of private madness and public hysteria that remains the blueprint for the psychological thriller.

Introducing this special screening is Boston playwright Ryan Landry. Famous for his irreverently funny adaptations of classics (Psyched, Death of a Saleslady, The Little Pricks), Landry has put his own twisted stamp on Lang’s film with his new theatrical production “M”, an hilarious, gender-bending piece of theater that features puppets and cross dressing, which will play at the Calderwood Pavilion. First join us to see the film that influenced Landry’s new work. After this screening there will be a discussion about adapting the look and feel of Fritz Lang’s film to the stage with the production's Lighting Designer, Deb Sullivan, and cast member Ellen Adair, moderated by Huntington's Associate Producer, M. Bevin O'Gara.
