Georges (Jean-Louis Trintignant) and Anne (Emmanuelle Riva) are in their eighties.

They are cultivated, retired music teachers. Their daughter Eva (Isabelle Huppert), who is also a musician, lives abroad with her family. One day, Anne has an attack. The couple's bond of love is severely tested.

This powerful new film by master director Michael Haneke (The White Ribbon, Caché, Funny Games) won the Palm D'Or at the 2012 Cannes Film Festival and has been nominated for and winning accolades including Golden Globe and Oscar nominations and critics best-of lists.
